The dual-branded Aloft and Element hotel complex in downtown Austin, Texas is a 34-story development offering the 278-room Aloft Austin Downtown and 144-room Element Austin Downtown. The property features Caroline, an on-site restaurant, coffeehouse and bakery, as well as Upstairs at Caroline, an urban background playground complete with a bar for locals and guests.
At the Aloft Element Hotel prefabricated building panels allowed seven different building trades to collaborate upfront on the project in order to save time, money and eliminate any issues prior to the panels arriving onsite.
This video features Mammoth Sto Panel affiliate, Baker Triangle Prefab. With a limited laydown area in an urban environment, Sto manufactured aluminum rain-screen panels were delivered just in time. Through the use of prefabricated panels, an entire floor was dried-in every two days complete with glass and glazing.
The hotel is pursuing LEED Certification.
